News from the book world….

Paul Beatty is the first American author  to win the Man Booker Prize.  “The Sellout” is a blistering satire about race in America. It’s a tragicomedy that explores the legacy of slavery and racial and economic inequality.  The judges seem to resonant with the book at a time when police violence against people of color have incited protests around the country and forced Americans to confront the country’s history of racism.

Check Paul Beatty’s interview with the UK press. His snark is in full force.
